Aubrey O’Day Gets Tattooed by TattooFinder.com Artist Friday Jones at Studio Grand Opening

Celebrity couture tattooist Friday Jones inked (for the second time) Aubrey O’Day, former singer with Danity Kane, at the grand opening event for her new tattoo studio, Friday Jones Fifth Ave (at Senses NYC Salon) last night. Friday has performed her craft on numerous celebrities including Angelina Jolie, Janeane Garofalo, Aaron Neville and Robbie Williams. Aubrey’s tattoo featured “Je ne sais quoi” on her middle finger which translates from French literally as “I don’t know”, but is commonly used as “that unknown special something.” Lou Bardach, CEO at Flash2xs.com, LLC (owners and operators of the TattooFinder.com website) was at the event as a sponsor and supporter of Friday, and snapped a few photos of Aubrey getting inked (see below).

"Aside from being one of our very popular flash artists, we have worked with Friday in a number of fun and creative ways," says Bardach. "Friday is always on the cutting edge of the tattoo industry, and extremely customer focused. Naturally, a personality like this works really well with us. I'm excited to be joining her for the opening of her new studio.”

While Aubrey’s tattoo was really just a “quickie,” Friday Jones Fifth Ave is promoted as a “Tattoo Couture Studio,” with a focus on providing an experience that brings together fine art, excellent craftsmanship, and a serene spa environment. Starting with a one-on-one consultation by appointment or referral, clients have their tattoo vision realized with Friday's guidance. A follow-up art design approval session is next, where Friday fine-tunes the art with additional detailing from the client. Finally, clients relax with a massage, manicure/pedicure or any of the salon's services, before having Friday translate the art onto skin.
"I love the peace and philosophical approach we can enjoy in the privacy of the tattoo couture studio - that's the real motivation behind the concept," says Friday Jones. "It's simply another evolutionary turn of a truly ancient art, where the human directive to honor and beautify itself takes many forms. I'm so happy to be practicing this perennial craft in one of the most significant marketplaces imaginable."

The studio grand opening event was well attended, complete with a living art installation / runway show featuring many of Friday’s clients and their skin art. Lyle Tuttle, known as the Forefather of Modern Tattooing, and long time friend of Friday was there in support. In a short message to the party, she paid homage to Lyle and others in attendance who “paved the way” for her in the industry.
