Chris J'ToT is a Colorado native.
He has been involved in art since he was a child. Determined to break into special effects make-up, Chris and a friend began dumpster diving at a local Halloween mask manufacturer. At age 14, Chris pleaded his way into employment at the same manufacturer painting masks and props. It was a factory supervisor there who sold Chris his first tattoo machines. After experimenting in his grandparents’ basement, Chris began his formal apprenticeship with Greg and Peggy Skibo in Greeley and Ft. Collins, Colorado. It was there he met his future wife, Krisha (they now have two beautiful girls, Vlanca and Akaia). In 1996, Chris and Krisha moved to South Denver to continue their career as Body Artists. They eventually acquired the same studio they worked at up until 1998 and made the shop their own, calling it Phantom 8.
As a tattoo artist, Chris prefers drawing on the skin directly to make the piece fit, flow and be worn. Chris also enjoys working in aerosol paint, enamel, acrylic, watercolor, and has created logos for clothing and businesses, as well as custom jewelry. Chris loves music and plays the harmonica, sings, DJ's, and has completed a few recordings with his friends. In his own words, "When I got into tattooing I had no idea of the vast, infinite well I stumbled into. I will always be captivated and connected to the art & industry of tattoo. It is like a giant aggressive, hideous, beautiful machine devouring the world of art!"
