On Sunday, September 2nd at the 2007 Thunder in the Rockies event in Loveland, Colorado, TattooFinder.com and Main Street Tattoo proudly presented the Crossroads Tattoo Contest. Over $2,500 in prizes were given away to the winners of the Color, Black and Gray, Motorcycle/Patriotic, Extensive, and Unique categories. Guest judges Lyle Tuttle, Friday Jones, Ray Reasoner, and Ben There checked out the contestants ink while MC Steve Cooper from radio station 107.9 The Bear kept the energy going and tossed free goodies to the onlooking crowd. With registration only $10, the contest was not only a huge success but also raised over $2,000 for Realities for Children. This charity provides emergency funding for abused, neglected, and at-risk youth in Larimer County.
Contestants could enter in as many categories as they wanted, but couldn't enter the same tattoo for multiple categories. The judges reviewed each tattoo and scored the ink based on a point system. Once the judging had finished for each category, the winners, along with the artist and/or shop that produced the tattoo, were announced. First, Second, and Third place winners all received cash prizes and went home with full wallets, bragging rights, and big smiles on their faces.
