Interested in Selling Your Artwork on TattooFinder.com?

Dear Prospective Artist,

Thank you for your interest in selling your artwork with Flash2xs.com, LLC. The TattooFinder.com website was launched January 1st, 2003, as a response to the MANY requests we were receiving on the Flash2xs.com website for single designs by those wanting to get a tattoo. Averaging over 50,000 unique visitors each day, TattooFinder.com has grown rapidly to become the clear online leader for single tattoo design sales!

Becoming a Flash2xs.com, LLC Artist is competitive, and we only select approximately 1 in 20 interested Artists to be on the site. We have been selling tattoo flash art for well over a decade (through Flash2xs.com as well as previously through Crystal Productions), and we have a good understanding of what we can and cannot sell. Obviously, art and creativity are subjective and there is no doubt that we have not signed some Artists who are very talented. But we are also looking to bring design diversity to what we offer, and part of our artist/artwork selection process includes looking at how a particular Artist's design style would fit with what we currently offer. Sometimes acceptance to the site is just a matter of timing.

The two primary goals of TattooFinder.com are to maintain our position as the top online resource for single tattoo design sales to the general public, AND to continue growing as an authoritative resource and consumer advocate within the tattoo industry. This means we are ALWAYS looking for talented Artists to bring on to our site, both well known and new talent alike. Who knows, you may be the next trend-setting Artist to define the industry standards!

Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to hearing more about you and to seeing samples of your artwork!

(and the Flash2xs.com, LLC Team!)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does selling my artwork on TattooFinder.com work?

A: Here is a summary of how we generally set up contracting with our Artists:

  • Artists need to guarantee that all artwork submitted for sale is original artwork created by the Artist, and free from any and all potential claims of copyright infringement.
  • Artists receive a percentage of all gross sales of their tattoo designs (the percentage depends on several factors).
  • Artists retain the copyright to their artwork.
  • Artists remain free to sell their tattoo designs on their own anywhere EXCEPT on the Internet or through another tattoo design/flash distribution company.
  • Ideally, the Artist will provide a CD-ROM to us of their scanned artwork that meet specific requirements in order for us to delivery their tattoo designs for sales. However, Artists can send us their ORIGINAL ARTWORK for scanning (the original artwork will be returned after it is scanned, and we will NOT scan from copies).
  • Flash2xs.com, LLC pays for all expenses related to sales of the artwork, including art preparation, inclusion to the website, website maintenance and updates, marketing costs, duplication costs, any shipping/handling costs, etc.
  • Flash2xs.com, LLC provides Artists with accurate and complete real-time sales records of their work sold via the internet, and pays Artists on a quarterly basis.
  • Artists will receive a 1099 IRS form and will be responsible for their own taxes.

This summary is ONLY a summary and does not constitute an actual agreement or contract in any way with Flash2xs.com, LLC.

Q: Does Flash2xs.com, LLC ever purchase original artwork outright?

A: Yes, but we generally don't pay a lot for the copyrights to original artwork. If we feel we can be profitable with the sale of artwork and the purchase price seems fair, we will buy it outright. For some Artists "quick cash" is a perfect solution to their needs.

Q: How does TattooFinder.com select the artwork it sells and Artists to bring onto the site?

A: TattooFinder.com gets many more applications from Artists than we are able to accept. We like to keep the artwork we offer to customers diverse, and sometimes it's just a matter of the styles and types of designs we are looking for at any particular time. There are some very specific things we look for in an Artist's work. Before you apply, we would highly recommend reviewing the article "Creating Tattoo Flash that Sells". Tattoo designs are COMMERCIAL artwork and thus there are some very specific requirements we look for when determining its "salability." This document gives a good overview of what we look for when determining "salability" of tattoo designs (our primary criteria). Having your designs conform to these requirements BEFORE you submit your samples can play a large role in helping you towards acceptance in the process.

Q: If I'm accepted to be an Artist on TattooFinder.com, what do I need to provide to the company?

A: Once an Artist is accepted for contracting, here is what we would need:

  1. Signed Artist Agreement.
  2. Contact/Business Information.
  3. Tattoo Designs and their Line Drawings.
  4. Signature/Logo - if your signature/logo on your artwork is what you would want to use on our website, you would not need to submit this separately.
  5. Photo of You - for the Artist Bios section of Tattoos-101 on TattooFinder.com
  6. Your Biography - for the Artist Bios section of Tattoos-101 on TattooFinder.com. See the Artist Bios section here for samples.
  7. Sample Work / Collage - for the Artist Bios section of Tattoos-101 on TattooFinder.com. Again, please see the Artist Bios section here for samples.
  8. Signed W-9 form

Q: How would my tattoo designs be sold?

A: The various ways we currently sell artwork are as single designs, flash sets, and through sub-licensing. Our customers purchase individual tattoo designs from TattooFinder.com, but we also receive orders for flash sets from Flash2xs.com by phone, fax, direct mail campaigns, and through various other advertising efforts. Signing the Flash2xs.com, LLC Artist Agreement gives Flash2xs.com, LLC the rights to sell your tattoo designs in any of these ways. Artists receive a percentage of revenue generated from all ways in which Flash2xs.com, LLC sells their artwork.

Q: How much money can I make selling my artwork through Flash2xs.com, LLC? How does TattooFinder.com compare to other sites selling tattoo designs on the Internet?

A: The owners of Flash2xs.com, LLC each have expertise in very important ways that has allowed Flash2xs.com to grow into one of the largest, top quality sources for flash on the Internet. Flash2xs.com, LLC excels in the sophistication of how the TattooFinder.com and Flash2xs.com websites are built and maintained, the recruitment and retention of top quality Artists, Internet and traditional ways of marketing, gathering of essential sales data, graphic design and preparation of artwork that is sold, and in customer service (click here to view quotes from happy customers from TattooFinder.com and click here to view quotes from happy customers from Flash2xs.com).

Because TattooFinder.com's market includes anyone on the Internet searching for a tattoo design, it is virtually unlimited with its potential sales. When an Artist works with Flash2xs.com, LLC, they are not only capitalizing on the growing number of sales today, but potentially capitalizing on new types of sales in the future.

Other sites that sell tattoo artwork may make big promises. We will make sure you have realistic expectations from Day 1. Other sites trying to emulate TattooFinder.com have already come and gone in the years we have been in existence. We pay the percentages we do to Artists not only because we feel those percentages are fair, but because we KNOW what we can afford to pay in order to allocate sufficient resources towards marketing and expansion. If you are accepted as a TattooFinder.com Artist, it means you stand out above the crowd. By becoming a TattooFinder.com Artist, it means you are joining a team and a business that stands out as well.

  2. Send CD-ROM with your artwork on it to:
  3. Flash2xs.com, LLC
    Attn: Brad Hutchison

Please follow the guidelines below when formatting your designs for review:

Guidelines For NON-Digital Artwork Submissions

To submit your samples by regular mail, here is the process you will need to follow:

  • You will first need quality printed color copies of your work (color copies required for both color and B/G tattoo designs).
