My name is Marc Lapierre. I hail from New England, Western Massachusetts to be more precise. Right around the same time I learned my first words, I was drawing my first pictures. I've always been into drawing cartoons, comic books and things of that nature. Over 12 years ago, I self published my first comic book, while still in high school. Today, I'm working as much as I can as a freelance cartoonist and graphic designer. Just like in my youth, I draw pretty much whatever people ask me to draw only now I charge for it! (Man, I wish I had thought of that when I was 13).

About ten years ago, a friend asked me to draw her a picture of a teddy bear on some clouds. She said she wanted to get it as a tattoo. That was the first time it occurred to me that this could be another outlet for my creativity. Since then I've been designing tattoos on the side for friends, family and anyone with a few bucks to throw my way. The more requests I got for custom designs, the more attracted to the medium I became. I love the creative freedom that is afforded to me when I'm working on designs. The more I designed, the more I wanted one. Last year, I finally came up with a design for myself and got it done (I never wanted to get ink designed by anyone else but me; I'm kind of a do-it-yourselfer). Someday I'd love to learn how to actually handle a needle, but for right now I'm content with just working on paper.

If I had to sum up my style in one word, it'd have to be "fun". I like to keep my designs bold, sharp, and colorful. My typical design recipe is to take some traditional themes, add equal amounts of comic book flair and rock & roll style, throw in a dash of humor and stir. I also enjoy drawing tribal type stuff and other abstract type designs, but I get the biggest kick out of devils and pin-up girls. They're just cool!
