My name is Paddy Bullman.

I am 46 years old and I was born in a small town called Youghal in the county of Cork in the south of Ireland.

I can't really say I have an occupation. Of course, I am a tattoo artist now and most people would consider that an occupation. I don't, I regard it as a way of life. I can't really say I planned on being a tattoo artist, just as much as I planned on being 46. It just happened while I was busy living.

During my life before I started tattooing seriously I tried a lot of different professions, my earlier years I was a sailor at sea. I went to work on ships at the age of 16 and since then I have moved around a lot. The last twenty years I spent most of the time living in Sweden. Among the other things I have done are; newspaper deliverer, general cleaner, factory worker, builder's labourer, forktruck driver, steel construction worker, welder, waiter, shop assistant, door to door salesman, union rep, male nurse, printer's assistant, commercial artist, painter, signwriter, sidewalk artist and mural painter.

Tattooing I have done all my life, though naturally enough not full-time at the start. At the age of 14, when I was a child living in Ireland there was one tattoo artist in the whole country. He was in Dublin, 350 miles away, he might as well have been on the moon, so I had to do things for myself.

My first tattoos were done on my 14 year old buddies using a sowing needle wrapped in cotton, dipped in indian ink and hand hacked into their tender young skin. The resultant masterpieces often caused strained family relationships and pink roses looking more like cabbages. Well, we all must start somewhere (although a lot of people will never admit that). I have become a lot better at my work through the years, and covered up the old masterpieces on my old friends. Because of my love of working freehand with tattoos I have always preferred to draw my own flash.

My hobbies are reading, astronomy, cosmology, physics, motorcycles and I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Some of my heroes are Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein, Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Joe Hill, and all other people willing to spread knowledge and make big sacrifices to try and make this world we live in a better place.
