Sometimes described as "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band," the "bad boys from Boston" have been going strong since 1970, though the period from 1979-1984 was a dark one, as the band wrestled with personnel changes and drug addiction. (That's probably when they got a lot of the tattoos.)
